Obviously, you must have genuine dealer principal buy in on this. This is not a box check. If you’re a general manager watching this and your dealer principal is not buying on this, it will go away as soon as your F & I managers corner him or her and start to complain about it.
You’ve got to have genuine buy-in. Then, simply limit the number of people who do this at first. Rick Ricart’s got a limited roll-out. Just a couple of people in the used car building started it. Then, they moved over to new cars. Now, there’s some people doing the hybrid and there’s a cat person who’s available. It wasn’t the whole team. They didn’t come out and just vomit all this all over the whole team. These are really a three implementation tips. It’s all you need.
