How To Sell Cars Online or Offline (PART 1)
TRANSCRIPT: Hi, this is Steve Stauning with another Steve Stauning Short and Sweet video training lesson. Today’s lesson: How to create the best car buying experience ever! Now, we’re going to talk about 100% offline, 100% online, and a hybrid of the two in this 27-part Short and Sweet video training series. This series was originally recorded live as part of the Undeniable Advantage Live Video Webcasts. To register for our next live video webcast go to UndeniableAdvantage.com right now.
All right. Let’s dive right into Gaining the Undeniable Advantage: How to Provide the Best Car-Buying Experience Ever. Actually, we’re going to review three best car-buying experiences ever. We’re going to look at 100% offline purchases. That’s the one we’re most familiar with. That’s the traditional UP who walks on the lot. We’re also going to look at 100% online buying experience. Yes, Virginia. Dealers are selling new cars online today. We’re going to show you how. Then we’re going to look at an online/offline hybrid, because that’s really where most of the deals are going to be done in the near future.
There is no one size fits all. This is continually evolving. You might ask, “Steve, why are we looking at all three?” We’re looking at 100% offline because right now, this really is where most of your transactions are occurring today. We’re going to look at some data from DrivingSales where they say that in 2015, 61% of buyers made no contact with you prior to showing up at your dealership and buying a car. That means 61% of people who are buying cars are doing it technically, as far as your team is concerned, 100% offline.
We’re also going to look at a hybrid, because this is where most of your future transactions are going to occur, and where 39% of your transactions are occurring today. We’ll look at 100% online. We need to understand this in order to maximize both our hybrid and even our 100% offline sales because we’re going to use some of the same tools. Some of the tools that we’re going to use online, we’ll also use offline or certainly in our hybrid.
